Elena is a scientist with several years’ experience in tumor immunology and neuroscience. After a master degree in Medical, Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (Milan), in 2015 Elena obtained a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Turin where she studied glial and neural progenitors’ competence during brain development. She then moved as a postdoctoral fellow to the Department of Biomedicine of the University of Basel (Switzerland) to investigate the role of the tumor microenvironment in the formation of brain tumors. She was particularly interested in understanding the interaction between immune and tumor cells and the mechanisms that tumor cells adopt to evade the immune system. During her academic career, Elena also mentored master and PhD students, designed and coordinated multiple research projects and obtained independent funding.

Elena is now interested in exploring novel approaches to re-activate the immune system in order to limit tumor growth, in line with the mission of T-One Therapeutics. She brings to the T-One Therapeutics team her extensive expertise in the use of animal models and of state-of-the-art cellular and molecular biology techniques, together with a solid background in tumor immunology.
